A retired Lieutenant General has ignited fresh controversy after calling out former President Donald Trump for what he described as a “violation of an unwritten military rule.”
The criticism came after Trump reportedly delivered a private address to a group of senior armed forces leaders — a move the general says crossed a long-standing boundary meant to keep political influence out of military affairs.
In his statement, the general didn’t mince words:
“There are rules, both written and unwritten, that protect the chain of command from political pressure. When a civilian leader steps over that line, it undermines the discipline and unity that our forces depend on.”
