I worked at a hotel, and this guy had been staying with us for nearly a month. Always polite, quiet, never any trouble. The kind of guest we didn’t mind having around.

Confused but curious, I went up to the room after housekeeping cleared it.

A handwritten note and $2,000 in cash.

The note read:
